If you’re a control freak not in control, you’re just a freak! “You’re lazy for not doing your own ironing!” This was a comment aimed at me by somebody when I told them I was picking my ironing up. They told me that I was wasting my money, and I should do it myself. Now, I am good at ironing and I really don’t mind doing it. But there’s better things I can do with my time. #socialmedia It’s the same in business. £8 for four shirts turned around quickly this week, meant I had an extra 30 minutes to support a client. In 30 minutes, I can earn a lot more than £8 AND do something that ignites my fire. Doing what I do best and outsourcing the rest is how I’ve managed to run and grow three businesses. I spend my available time working 1-2-1 with clients and have my team undertake the rest. They have all set-up businesses to do: accounting, bookkeeping, operations, content writing & creation, social media…. the list goes on. Just like my lady who has set up an ironing business. Stop trying to do everything and start outsourcing today. Where will you start? #smallbusiness #businessmentoring #businessplanning #outsourcing

Totally! Just because we can do it, doesn't mean we should. I'm all for outsourcing stuff...my time is very precious and I know my strengths (and weaknesses LOL) If I don't have to do it, don't want to do it and someone can do it so much better I outsource :)

Love this post - there is a saying “why get a dog and bark for it” If your expertise is best placed doing something then pay someone - now before ppl shoot me down & say they can’t afford it- time is money and if your time can be used better elsewhere do it. I used to give £25 a month to a charity but my friend desperately needed extra income so I employed her to do cleaning It greed my time up and it helped her ! Pls remember use your time productively & wisely 👏💙

I realised a long time ago I’m not good at running a business, I built a team to run my businesses. I understand the process, the system, the everything, I see the holes and the flaws, just crap at doing that within my own stuff. So I do it for other people and help them create their own teams to ensure they can grow. It’s called working on your business and not in your business. And no one makes money running a business, you only make serious money when you sell :)

I have had an ironing lady for over 7 years and it’s the best money I spend each month. She irons 50 items for £27. I send her my ironing fortnightly. The time I save is phenomenal!

love this - people think I'm mad for having a cleaner, but I'm delighted to pay her to do something I don't want to do - while I do things which earn me more money or allow me to rest

I let my accountant do a lot of stuff I could probably do myself based on the same principle. In the hour that it takes for me to do something basic I could be earning or winning new business.

If I could afford a cleaner, someone to doy ironing etc I would! ATM I have to work out who I pay t do jobs based on my ability and lack of income 😂 ATM I'm doing everything to do with my business (bar favours I exchange) because I don't have the income to fund it. But when I can, I will.

Well said, it’s the first thing I discuss with any new client, then I get them to log everything they do for 2 weeks to see what they need to do Eliminate Automate Delegate Prioritise I was doing my own book keeping for 7 years because I used to be a control freak Not only is my book keeper an expert but she gave me back a whole day a week to support my clients and earn more money

If you "don't mind" or quite enjoy something like ironing or cleaning, then perhaps you SHOULD be doing it sometimes - a bit of diversionary downtime like this does wonders for problem solving, creative thinking etc.
